BFI CEO Ben Roberts attended the Lumière Summit
BFI CEO Ben Roberts attended the Lumière Summit, which was co-chaired by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae Myung, in SaintPaul-de-Vence on 7 September 2026.
Joining over 200 senior executives and creatives from the international film industry, the Summit was a platform for dialogue and action, with delegates agreeing to a number of commitments. These included the BFI committing to the following Declarations: Lumière Declaration on the Future of Cinema and the Moving Image; Manifesto for Universal Image Literacy Education; Saint-Paul-de-Vence Declaration for a Cultural Governance of Artificial Intelligence; Declaration Towards More Sustainable Screen Industries; and Declaration for Safer Sets and Greater Gender Equality in the Screen Industries.
