The We Crip Film Festival will take place for the second time on 18–19 July, presenting a programme dedicated to films by people with disabilities and issues of accessibility in the film industry.
The festival programme includes documentaries, animation, comedy, short films and other works by filmmakers with disabilities. Highlights include the opening screening of a film about Joybubbles, the European premiere of *Lone Wolves*, the short film programme *It’s Not You, It’s Ableism*, and other screenings.
Also in July, the BFI will present a preview screening of *Ish*, followed by a discussion with the director, producer and cast.
I
n August, BFI Southbank and BFI IMAX will host a month-long season entitled ‘No Strings Attached: Puppets on Film’, dedicated to the art of puppetry in cinema. The programme will include, amongst others, *The Muppets Take Manhattan*, *The Empire Strikes Back* and *Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared*, followed by a discussion with the filmmakers.
